Days out

There are many lovely parks around the West Yorkshire and we love to discover new places. Ever since Little E came along last year, walks in the parks became one of our favourite outdoor activities. I visited this place for the first time with a mummy friend. She is local and has been there many times before. My first impression on our arrival, was WOW, what a lovely spot. We were surrounded by woods as well as plenty of green and open spaces. I instantly thought about Mr A and how much he would love it there.  And I was right. When we visited together, he fell in love with the place instantly. He loves roaming the woods and explore every single corner, every branch and every tree. It quickly became apparent that we found a new spot we will be visiting regularly. About Oakwell Hall and Country Park It’s…

What can you do in winter with a toddler or a young child? Days are getting shorter and when it’s cold outside, it can be very tempting sometimes to stay in all day. But you can certainly have lots of fun together, even in winter months. Get ready for some winter fun with kids; toddlers or older. Here are just a few ideas for some winter activities that are great to keep the little ones busy and active. Some of them are great to do in the run up to Christmas to get you into the festive spirit. Others are for wintertime in general. Go and see Christmas lights Or even better go and see the Christmas light switch on event in your town or city. If your child is too young to stay out until late or you’ve already missed the big event in your city, don’t worry. There…

What a great afternoon we had at Heath Manor Park and Jungle Experience. We visited for the first time last week, and we loved it. Especially the little one. It’s a great size park located in Halifax (West Yorkshire) with a fantastic playground, a small tropical world, water play area, coffee shop with outdoor seating and beautiful walled gardens. We parked on the street not far from the entrance; it was free as it was Sunday. Otherwise, there is a two-hour restriction. Not ideal, if you plan to stay longer, but with a toddler, it may just be enough. I think we stayed there for two and a half to three hours. Our first stop was the playground area. An obvious choice with a toddler. I’ve visited many different playgrounds in my area, but this one must be one of the best so far. It’s a lot bigger than any…

I’ve been calling Yorkshire my home for over a decade now. It’s the largest traditional county of England with lots of beautiful greenery, tourist attractions, national parks and historic sites. And because summer holiday is in full swing I thought it would be an appropriate and good idea to inspire you to some fun things to do in Yorkshire with kids. I’ve come up with a round up of some of the best places Yorkshire has to offer. Some of them we have visited, while others are still on our list. Hit the beach on Yorkshire coast What a better place to spend a day out with the kids than at the seaside. Yorkshire has some great seaside resorts. I’ve visited most of them in my time here. Even though it’s not Mediterranean, the scenery and coastline are beautiful. Coming from a landlocked country, I love the fact that I can…

I have recently visited a friend in East Yorkshire. And while there she suggested a visit to Honeysuckle Farm, near Hornsea. She’s been there before with her kid, but for the little one and me, it was the first visit. And what a fun afternoon for kids it was. They had an amazing time. We arrived quite late though. Had a coffee at my friend’s house and then as you know, getting the kids ready and out of the house can be a lengthy process. But we managed finally and after a short drive from her place we were there at around 3 pm. On arrival, I noticed there were only a few cars in a car park, so it looked like it’s not very busy. Great, I thought. The entry is £4.95 per adult, kids under two go for free. You can also buy feeding cups and buckets at…

As our baby’s first birthday was fast approaching, we were deciding on the best way to mark this beautiful milestone. We agreed to plan a family day out. After all, our families aren’t around to celebrate with us, so it would be a pretty small birthday party. Considering that she is fascinated by animals like most babies are, we wanted to take her to a zoo or something similar. After looking into the options near our home, we decided to visit Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We’ve not been there before, so we thought it was a great time to pay this place a visit. There is a huge free parking area, so I don’t think you would ever struggle to find a parking space. Having said that, the park wasn’t particularly busy when we visited last Friday, so I don’t really know how busy they get over the weekend or…
